Tara
The Savannah Lakes Village Tara Golf Club offers a variety of man-made and
natural hazards to challenge the weekend player as well as the low
handicapper. Designed by Tom Clark and opened in 1993; Tara Golf Club plays
7002 yards form the back tees. The tif-eagle greens are fast and true.
The course layout forms a figure "8" around the country club and parallels
Lake Thurmond. The ninth and eighteenth greens meet behind the clubhouse to
form a shared green, which also overlooks the lake, all providing a spectacular view. The Tara Golf Club measures 7,002 yards from the back tees
and features 81 sand bunkers.
Monticello
Designed by Tom Clark; the Monticello Golf Course is sure to impress even
the most discerning golfers. The club opened in the Spring of 2000 and
serves as the second private golf course for Savannah Lakes Village. The
style of architecture for the course is a modern lakes course with heavily
bunkered rolling terrain and water hazards featured on nine of the eighteen
holes. The course was also designed around numerous rock formations, which
also add to the breathtaking aesthetics and the degree of difficulty. As if
this wasn't enough, the Monticello Golf Course measures 7,032 yards from the
back tees and features 76 sand bunkers. Monticello features Crenshaw/L93
bentgrass on the greens enclosed by Emerald Zoysia collars and bunker
surrounds with 419 Bermuda grass on the fairways.
